Only a Northern Song — George Harrison

A propósito de temas dedicados entre beatles, Harrison dedicó un tema muy especial al dúo Lennon-McCartney: Only a Northern Song. La canción hace referencia, por un lado, a Liverpool, conocida en Inglaterra como "la ciudad santa del Norte"; y por otro, a Northern Song Ltd., empresa creada por Brian Epstein y el editor musical Dick James para publicar y administrar los derechos de las letras de The Beatles. De más está decir que en su gran mayoría las canciones del catálogo pertenecían a la firma Lennon-McCartney. Si bien Harrison señaló que esta canción era una "broma" en la que mezclaba ambas referencia ya mencionadas, también se puede intuir una cierta crítica o queja por parte del guitarrista ante el dominio compositor de John y Paul, quienes solían dejar de lado las creaciones de George. En fin, solo una historia más detrás de una canción beatle.
